Construction Manager

We are on the hunt for an experienced Construction Manager to lead and manage our construction projects across Australia. Join us to take charge of our exciting construction division!
As our Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing multiple projects from start to finish – from design and concept to completion – across many locations across the nation. This includes people management, financial tracking and reporting on outcomes, as well as bid writing. We are looking for a company-oriented, self-motivated individual who is up-to-date with Victorian Construction Industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of key deliverables, including value management, safety initiatives, structural adequacies, and verification of contracted works
- Plan and manage construction processes including construction personnel and activities onsite.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences.
- Managing the procurement of key subcontractors and suppliers
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors
Collaborate with team members, engineers, planners, drafts people and construction personnel. - Preparing weekly and monthly project updates, including project costs and potential changes for senior management and directors. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in accordance with approved plans/drawings, contract specifications and regulatory requirements
- Taking ownership for creating a safe working environment across all projects
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant tertiary/ trade qualifications
- Project Control experience including management of manpower scheduling and allocation of resources
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly recognise issues or foresee and navigate risk early
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Have a strong commitment to health, safety and quality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs, including MS Projects
